Kinky’s Ex’s creative new blend of artists and music takes on a dangerously vibrant rock edge with its new writing collaboration and line up. Patrick Le Pen has teamed up with Darrell Marc Bath and their talents have entwined in a veritable explosion of creative energy. Results: SHARE THE INFORMATION electrifying rock with a message: STOP MESSIN’ (WITH MY MIND) deeply personal and bluesy and MR SCREWDRIVER –driving punk: Music by Darrell Marc Bath Lyric by Patrick Newell and Melissa Holston(share the info). Joining Darrell and Patrick on stage will be Marco Abbatecola on bass and Sergio Scaletti on drums. As Passionate in intent as music content these songs express the band’s range and commitment.
Patrick Le Pen
Patrick Le Pen has been making music for many years as a solo artist and with groups Friends of the Family and Jade. His writing and performance style spans the whole range of music genres rooted firmly in Rock, blues and soul. It is this energy and love of music that inspired him to form Kinky’s Ex to create exciting new musical collaborations and with Darrell Marc Bath has unleashed a tsunami of tracks.
Darrell Marc Bath
“Born Croydon, December 24 '66, got first guitar from a Kenyan refugee and has music bug ever since. Joins local youth club groups, then gets into meeting punk rock musicians, this fortunate bit of luck enables Darrell to say goodbye to the menial jobs he has undertaken since leaving school. The most important of these bands is called U.K.Subs (‘87-91 were my years, band still going). All the touring makes him a better
player: Forms Crybabys (‘91-96 were the years the 4 cds came out) Within this period Darrell records and tours with Dogs d'Amour. The later 90s saw D recording, writing and touring with Ian Hunter of the hugely respected Mott The Hoople group of the
early 70s! Buoyed on by this, Darrell had the chance to record two cds of his own stuff: Sabrejet and Love and Hurt ‘00 and ‘01 respectively! Darrell looks forward to much creativity and success with Kinky’s Ex!!!!!”
Marco Abbatecola
Marco started his career in 1984 as a session player for the Italian national TV channel RAI. Two years later he toured throughout Europe with different Italian signed acts. He worked for the International agency Rock and Dogs as a studio and live session player. Since settling in England he has been performing with Gabrielle, Noel McKoy, Marcus Malone and in the main festivals in UK and Europe such as Birmingham Jazz Festival, Blackburn and Warrington blues festival and more. In 1998 he spent one year in Cuba to gain his experience in Latin music. Back in London he performed with Section 11 Latin band in Spain and in the UK, Kico Kowan Orchestra and other different Latin Productions.
Sergio Scaletti
A professional musician for over 15 years, born in Naples (Italy) in 1972
Studio experience: Come Quando (single), Versixversi; The Invisible Part Of Me, (single), Fabrizio Fedele,“K” (album), Kenny McCormick, the winner of the I-Tim Tour 2002 for the Campania Region resulting in several radio and TV appearances and interviews. Italian Tours: Versixversi, Nuova Schola Cantorum, Aleandro Baldi, Dino, Marco Armani, Stefano Artiaco. Only recently moved to London, he has worked with a series of up and coming bands, recording original material as well as performing in gigs in key venues including The Dublin Castle, Café de Paris, Betsey Trotwood, The Notting Hill Arts Café, Pop, etc. I am also collaborating with established singers such as Linda Muriel (formerly of Incognito and Brand New Heavies), Dave Sharman (guitar soloist and composer). Currently involved with the Up Beat Project in Chalk Farm (London) as drums and music teacher to people with mental health problems.
